LYC Big Gay Out

A cornerstone event of New Zealand’s rainbow calendar, the LYC Big Gay Out, returns to Point Chevalier’s Coyle Park on Sunday 8 February from midday until 7.00pm, with an amazing line-up on the Durex main stage.

Coyle Park will be filled with more than 100 market stalls offering everything from food and retail goods to information and support.

The Burnett Centre will again be on the site to provide free and confidential STI and HIV testing, with results communicated the following week.

Sponsored by Urge Bar, the beer garden and dance tent will be pumping as always.

For those needing transport from the city, LYC Big Gay Out buses will depart from outside Family Bar on Karangahape Road to Coyle Park every 20 minutes from 11.30am. The last bus will leave Coyle Park for Family Bar at 8pm. Bus fares are only $2 each way.

For the keen cyclists, the Pride Ride departs from Queens wharf at 11.00am and Western Park at 11.50am with full bike parking and mechanic available at the park.

So come early with your family and friends, bring a picnic and some sunblock, and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment and community celebrations.
